Divorce “Project Management”

Divorce as project management

Your divorce should be handled by a professional

When you hire a professional to install new windows for your home, you expect your contractor to understand all tasks necessary to complete the project.

This professional expertise allows the contractor to provide you with a timeline to obtain necessary permits, obtain the materials and install your new windows.  Additionally, this expertise provides for the contractor to commit to a timeline for project completion and final cost for the job.

The timeline and cost for the project is essential to all of us that have busy lives and are willing to pay a reasonable fee to have the job done right on time.

Divorce should not be different.  Experienced divorce counsel should be prepared to provide you with a fixed fee agreement and a timeline to complete the divorce.

The attorney you hire to address your divorce should not need to be emailed, called and prodded to do the job that you have hired them to do.  This individual must manage the case and meet the time and budget constraints that have been set at the time you hired him or her.

Unnecessary delays or mistakes in the process of divorce will inevitably create emotional and financial costs that should be avoided.

The fact is that nearly everyone going through a divorce wants to get through it quickly.  Many of us also understand that divorce will bring with it  important consequences financially and otherwise that will affect our lives for many years going forward.

Competent and mindful divorce counsel will work to understand the unique goals and issues of the divorce during your initial consultation and then go about the professional task of moving the divorce forward promptly to accomplish your goals in divorce.

The law firm you choose in divorce should match your goals for divorce.
